Gym Flooring

Gym flooring has to be strong enough to withstand lots of pressure. Gym floors need to have special qualities like comfort, longevity and resistance. The flooring obviously has to be of the best quality since it undergoes lots of wear and tear. There are several types of systems available for flooring in gyms nowadays.

The Gym Floor mats need not be something that harms the environment. The flooring can be recycled vinyl flooring or a recycled rubber mat. The rubber mats come with a polyurethane top coating or in a press molded and calendared rubber tile form.

Let us discuss about the different kinds of flooring that can be used in gyms as follows. Basically there are two types of gym flooring options:

Vinyl Flooring tiles: The Vinyl Flooring tiles have lots of features like anti-skid texture, special sheet sizes, different thickness sheets and a wide range of colors. The Gym Floor finish option is available in matte or gloss finishes. For convenience, interlocking and square tiles can be used that aid easy installation and layout of the gym floors.

Rubber gym flooring: Many people opt for recycled rubber mats for their gym floors, as they are environment-friendly. They give a seamless finish to the floor and make it stable. Moreover, they are long-lasting and have high resistance power against regular use. They provide a uniform thickness and proper density. This is why they are considered safe for exercise. Another form of rubber based mats is calendared rubber tiles as mentioned before. These tiles are strong because of their special thickness patterning. These tiles remain stable in various temperatures. Along with this, these tiles camouflage minor scratches due to their self-healing system. They are also noise proof and can absorb the sound of feet etc. easily.

In addition to the above two, lots of “green” gym flooring is made available nowadays. It is made from recycled materials like used rubber tires etc. Sometimes, even broken glass is transformed into a flooring material. The flooring systems company looks after all the other things like the layout of the gym floor, and provides for the necessary materials like tape, sealer or any other interlocking product needed for the same. All you need to do is choose between the various options available.
